The award-winning quintet, which received Spain’s National Music Award in 2020, will perform ‘Essentials’ at Jesús Cultural Centre this Sunday, tracing more than three decades of musical history.

The 5th Santa Eulària Chamber Music Festival continues on Sunday, 18 October, with a performance by Spanish Brass at the Jesús Cultural Centre at 7 pm.

The quintet will present Essentials, a programme featuring some of the most representative works from its 35 albums, offering a journey through the key moments of a career spanning more than three decades. Blending musical tradition with contemporary sounds, the programme can be adapted to suit each venue and audience.

Founded in 1989, Spanish Brass has performed in more than 60 countries, establishing itself as one of the most internationally acclaimed chamber ensembles specialising in brass instruments. Its accolades include the 2020 National Music Award, presented by Spain’s Ministry of Culture, five Carles Santos Awards and the 2026 AIE Lifetime Achievement Award for Dedication to Music.

The quintet comprises Carlos Benetó and Juanjo Serna on trumpets, Manuel Pérez on French horn, Inda Bonet on trombone and Sergio Finca on tuba. Its repertoire brings together classical works, new compositions and stage productions, with brass instruments at the heart of its performances.

Music education adds another dimension to the festival

The fifth edition of the festival also includes an educational programme designed to bring music closer to younger audiences and aspiring musicians.

Coinciding with the opening concert, a group of students from the Santa Eulària Municipal Music School were able to attend part of a rehearsal by the Marí-Herrera Duo. They subsequently met the musicians to hear about their professional experience and gain a closer insight into life as performing artists.

Two more concerts scheduled before the end of October

Following Spanish Brass’s performance, the festival will continue on Sunday, 25 October, at 5.30 pm, with Les fades dels somnis, an educational performance by Art3 specifically designed for families.

The programme will conclude on Saturday, 31 October, at 7 pm, with Retrats d’amor, performed by the Vives-Laliga Duo. The concert will bring the fifth Santa Eulària Chamber Music Festival to a close.
