A seal against illegal transport in Ibiza

The commitment to tackling illegal transport was made visible on the opening day of Fitur this Wednesday with the presentation of a quality seal for transport services (taxis and VTC vehicles). The initiative features a striking logo designed to help customers easily identify and verify which services are legal and which operate illegally. The Vice-President of the Consell de Ibiza and head of the island department responsible for combating illegal activity, Mariano Juan, described it as “a new tool, a quality seal for the legal sector and a clear commitment to order and legality”.

Speaking at the presentation, held at the Ibiza stand, the President of the Consell de Ibiza, Vicent Marí, recalled that “quality tourism begins with safe and responsible services. It is not only a matter of maintaining order, but also of caring for the destination”. In his view, illegal activity in the transport sector “has generated numerous problems and a sense of lack of control”. The aim of this seal, together with other measures against illegal operations, is for “the island to be synonymous with tranquillity and trust. This seal is a declaration of intent in that direction”.
