Unstable weather is set to mark the weekend in Ibiza, with overcast skies, persistent rainfall and a markedly humid atmosphere affecting much of the island from Friday onwards, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), which issued the forecast on its social media channels this morning.
This Friday, the island woke up to minimum temperatures of 12°C, while highs are expected to reach 17°C. Cloudy intervals will gradually increase, leading to overcast skies. Rainfall may occur throughout the day and could be accompanied by mud rain due to the presence of suspended dust. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, although daytime highs may drop slightly. Winds will be light, increasing to moderate as the day progresses, while relative humidity will reach very high levels, with readings of 90% in areas such as Ibiza Town and up to 100% in Santa Eulària.
Conditions are set to worsen on Saturday, with a distinctly wintry day forecast. Maximum temperatures will reach 16°C and minimums will remain at 12°C, under overcast skies and widespread rain. Showers may be locally heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, particularly in some parts of the island. Temperatures will show little variation or a slight decline. Winds will generally be light from the north, turning westerly in the afternoon. Relative humidity will be close to 100% across most of the island, increasing the sensation of damp cold.
On Sunday, the unsettled weather will continue, although with some variations. Highs are expected to rise again to 17°C, while lows will drop to 9°C, especially during the early hours of the morning. Cloudy intervals will once again tend towards overcast skies, with showers more likely in the early morning and evening. Winds will blow from the west and southwest, ranging from light to moderate, with strong intervals from the afternoon onwards, which could further worsen wind chill conditions. Relative humidity will range between 60% and 100%, depending on the area and time of day.
Given this outlook, the weekend calls for caution on the roads, particularly due to the risk of heavy rain, muddy conditions and strong wind gusts, and for planning outdoor activities with suitable indoor alternatives.
