Aemareh receives €3,600 in Ibiza and Formentera for its adolescent support programme

The association Aemareh (Spanish Association of Anorectal Malformations and Hirschsprung’s Disease) has raised €3,600 in Ibiza and Formentera to ensure the continuity of its emotional support programme for adolescents affected by these rare diseases.

The funds come from two sources: a €2,500 donation from the Flying Birds Foundation, a German foundation represented by Ana Vide, and the sale of charity Christmas lottery tickets at the maritime stations managed by Calima in the ports of Ibiza and Formentera. According to the organisation, this is the second consecutive year it has received this support, which allows the project to be consolidated on an annual basis.

The initiative was launched in December 2025 by Ignacio Revilla, former delegate of the ports of Ibiza and La Savina and a national-level member of the association. Revilla highlighted that the programme has been strengthened thanks to the collaboration of the participating entities and stressed the importance of emotional support for adolescents who, in many cases, live with their condition “between ostracism and shame” due to its uniqueness.

Hirschsprung’s disease and anorectal malformations are rare conditions that, according to Aemareh, affect approximately one in every 5,000 births. The association also collaborates with organisations in the field of rare diseases such as Feder (the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases), as well as international bodies including Uniaci (the International Union of Colorectal Associations for Children and Adolescents).
