Superyacht Loon, rented for over €500,000 a week, docks in Ibiza

In the Levante dock of the Port of Ibiza a superyacht has been berthed for a few days now, a superyacht that leaves no one indifferent by its majesty.

It is the ‘Loon’, a vessel of 67 meters in length valued at $75 million and available to ‘anyone’ who can afford the €540,000 plus expenses it costs for a week.

While in winter the yacht moves to warmer areas to be rented (such as the Bahamas or the Caribbean), in summer it can be seen plying the seas that bathe France, Italy, Croatia … and now Ibiza.

The ‘Loon’ was built in 2009 by Icon Yachts and the first owner was Tom van Dam. This was followed by a Russian billionaire (Alexander Mazanov), an Irish one (Paul Coulson) and currently its brand new owner is another American billionaire.

Luxury at full speed

The yacht consists of seven staterooms accommodating 12 guests with an expert crew to provide guests with an unforgettable experience on board. It has been refitted twicein 2010 and 2020. Her high-end design, by the prestigious Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) studio, combines performance, comfort and luxury. It features a spectacular swimming pool on the main deck and an exceptional beach club with gym, massage room and sauna, all with direct access to the sea from the stern.

She has a master suite on deck with private access to the sky lounge, a VIP stateroom and a convertible stateroom on the upper deck. Her four additional staterooms are located on the lower decks and are distributed in two double cabins and two twin cabins.

She is currently owned by American billionaire Craig Leipoldwell known in the United States for being the owner of the Minnesota Wild ice hockey team, although he has amassed his fortune in other types of businesses. With a net worth of about $4 billion, Leipold is married to another business tycoon, with whom he has five children: Helen Johnson-Leipoldwho is heiress to the fortune of SC Johnson & Son, a well-known multinational company engaged in manufacturing household cleaning products and other consumer chemicals.
