The Hippy Market Punta Arabí one of the most emblematic street markets in Ibiza, starts a new season next year wednesday, May 7th with the aim of continuing to consolidate itself as an essential event for both residents and visitors. With more than 400 active stalls, this market located in the heart of Es Canar is reaffirmed as one of the main multicultural spaces of the island since its creation creation in 1973.
This new stage comes with important novelties, among them the incorporation of the fERGUS Style Punta Arabí hotela four-star establishment recommended for adults that will open its doors in mid-May in this same enclave. With white villas among pine forests, three restaurants and bars integrated into the Mediterranean landscape, this new accommodation will offer a unique lifestyle experience that will coexist with the activity of the flea market.
“We are looking forward to sharing with our public the work carried out by the more than 400 artisans who have stalls in this market and we are looking forward to surprise you every Wednesday,” he explains Paola Podestápresident of the vendors’ association Avhempa. “There will be many novelties that our visitors will find, both in their new environment and in the musical field, as we are the only market that offers live music every week with different artists from the island,” he adds.
An experience more Ibiza than ever
The essence of Hippy Market Punta Arabí remains intact, with a wide offer of handcrafted products which includes costume jewelry, accessories, clothing, natural and organic cosmetics, as well as items made from recycled materials or local liquors, such as traditional Ibizan herbs.
“Hippy Market Punta Arabí is the most complete flea market in Ibiza and the one that best suits the pockets of its visitors, since there are products of all kinds of prices”, says Podestá. This diversity guarantees that every visitor “will find something special to take home, whether it is a traditional souvenir or an innovative eco-friendly product”.
The live musicone of the hallmarks of the market, will continue to be the protagonist every week with concerts by local artists. In addition, this season also returns the gastronomic space with a selection of food trucks, which provide culinary variety in a relaxed and familiar atmosphere.
Tradition and renovation
Hippy Market Punta Arabí has been able to evolve over the years. Throughout its history it has been combining the trajectory of artisans who have been in the market for decades with the energy of new vendors who join every season. “This fusion of tradition and renewal means that the flea market is always up to date, offering a unique experience for both regulars and new visitors,” Podestá points out.
The Santa Eulària Town Council recalls the importance of this space as a nerve center of Es Canar, and encourage both residents and tourists to discover the proposals for this season. “It is an ideal activity to do with the family after a day at the beach,” they emphasize.
Throughout its more than 50 years of historythe Hippy Market Punta Arabí has established itself as a cultural, artistic and social meeting point on the island. With its return, it revalidates its role as one of the most representative referents of the most authentic Ibiza.
When does Hippy Market Punta Arabí open?
The market will open every Wednesday from May 7 and the admission is free.
