Storm on Ibiza: strong winds knocks down 3 trees in Sant Antoni

The yellow alert for coastal conditions was maintained until 19:00 on Thursday, and the wind will continue to blow strongly until midday Friday.

Ibiza and Formentera have already received Evelyn, the new storm that is battering practically the whole country. Since last Wednesday, the skies over the Pitiusas islands have been covered once again with grey clouds that are causing rainfall, although not too heavy.

The strong wind is wreaking havoc in some parts of the island of Ibiza. In Sant Antoni, in the last 48 hours, three trees have fallen in different parts of the municipality. Yesterday, members of Civil Protection removed the remains of a tree in Cala Salada and another in the ses Fontanelles area, according to information from the Sant Antoni City Council. This morning the strong gale caused another incident with the fall of a tree in the playground in Sant Rafel.

According to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) from Friday at midday the winds and rain will ease over the Pitiusas. Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast is for practically summer days, with clear skies and maximum temperatures that could reach 22 degrees.
