Russian tycoon Doronin to demolish illegal bunker at his Platges de Comte mansion

The company that carried out the works failed to comply with a 2012 licence for rehabilitation and improvement works

The High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands has dismissed the appeal from Russian tycoon Vladislav Doronin’s defence team against the 2019 ruling, which ordered him to demolish the works carried out in 2014 at his mansion in Platges de Comte, on a forested area on protected rustic land in Sant Josep. The Guardia Civil’s Nature Protection Service (Seprona) had reported the illegal works in 2014, discovered following a helicopter inspection.

The ruling also unblocks another case evaluating the seriousness of the urban infraction committed and forces Doronin to pay a fine of one million euros to Sant Josep City Council.

Following the TSJB’s ruling, Sant Josep Town Hall will initiate proceedings giving the Russian tycoon the opportunity to demolish the illegal works and, if he fails to do so, the Council will be able to demolish them under a subsidiary execution, later passing on the costs to Doronin’s company.
