Of course Ibiza’s coves are some of its greatest assets but there are so many walking routes to discover the other jewels of the Pitiusas, such as its defense towers, lighthouses, caves or lookouts to take in the incredible landscapes offered by the white island.
Es Culleram
Es Culleram is a cave found 150 meters above sea level on the Can Quintals estate, a few kilometers before arriving at sa Cala de Sant Vicent. Discovered in 1907, it can be accessed by foot from a hillside or by car with only a short walk. It is open from 10:30am to 1:30pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
Rossa Salt Tower
At the end of Platja d’en Bossa, a long way from the beach clubs and hotels lining the coast of Sant Josep, lies the Rossa Salt Tower also known as torre des Carregador. It is a simple walking route that runs along the beach to reach small hill where this popular structure has been visited for many years from 10:30am to 1:30pm. It’s well worth the climb to enjoy the amazing views.
Moscarter Lighthouse
One of the best places to experience being on an island is visiting Portinatx and the Moscarter Lighthouse. It is a simple, flat walking route which crosses a pine forest and concludes with a path that follows the steep cliffs of the area
Cap des Falcò
Sunbaking in ses Salines is a fantastic plan, but a visit to the pine forest is a must, stopping first at the restored Pou des Carbò, then reaching es Codolar, the nearby cove. You’ll need to cross Cap des Falcò and once you reach the other side, you can appreciate the views of the Salinas pools.
Savinar Towers
Perhaps its the incredible views of the magical islest of es Vedrà that make it is one of the most visited spots on the island. To reach the Torre des Savinar a certain level of fitness is required due to the steep climb although it’s not overly complicated. During the summer months the owners usually charge a feed to enter, but during winter it is free and a favourite rendezvous for the photographers on the island.
