Ibiza’s 6 best beaches to go to with kids

Easy access and a shaded area are needed to go swimming with the smaller one

Ibiza is famous all over the world for its beautiful beaches. Apart from having spectacular places to take pictures or simply to enjoy the quality of the sea and coves. The island also has large sand beaches where you can go with the youngest members of the family and spend an unforgettable day.

The requirements that these beaches must meet are a couple: they must be shallow, in order for children to swim safely. They need shade, so when they come out of the water, they can take shelter from the sun. They also need sand, so they can walk calmly, without injuring their feet or slipping on wet rocks. Finally, they must have a lifeguard service, because even though you should never lose sight of the little ones, their presence is essential. It will also help families if access to the swimming area is easy, with parking nearby.

Ses Salines beach

This beach is great for kids. It is very wide (1400 meters), only a few meters deep.  The average depth is generally no more than 170 centimetres more than 50 metres from the shore. It has parking, shade under the pine trees and lifeguard service. It is located in the municipality of Sant Josep.

This is one of the most famous of Ibiza and its water is turquoise blue. It is located in the natural park of Ses Salines and offers a nice walk along its shoreline that children can also enjoy.

Santa Eulària beach

It is an urban beach, as it is located at the center of the town It is also one of the rare beaches of the Balearic Islands where smoking is not permitted.

This is a perfect beach for kids, and if you take a few minutes on foot, you can go to the mouth of the river to feed the ducks.

Cala Bassa

This beach of Sant Josep has a length of 250 metres and is surrounded by a huge pine forest where you can shelter from the intense sun.

Platja d’en Bossa

It is the longest beach of the island of Ibiza, where you can find all the services that you need. It begins in the middle of Ibiza (ses Figueretes) and ends in the natural park of Ses Salines (Sant Josep).

There are plenty of beach clubs but there are quieter areas where you can enjoy with children. Since this is a very large beach, kids can run and enjoy the sand.

This beach offers many activities, excursions and water sports.

Cala de Sant Vicent

This 320-metre long and 40-metre wide beach is in the municipality of Sant Joan, very close to the village of Sant Vicent. From the bay it is possible to see the islet of Tagomago.

This is a very family beach, where many residents of the island go, especially on Sundays, as there are many restaurants along the promenade.

The children will greatly appreciate it and will even make new friends.

Arriving at the beach is spectacular because of the view which can be enjoyed from the road.
