Ibiza hopes to attract U.S. tourists who fly from New York to Palma de Mallorca

The island's tourism director of Ibiza attends an airline conference in Fitur

Juan Miguel Costa, the island director of tourism for the Consell de Ibiza, attended a meeting on Wednesday where they discussed the flights that a company will operate this season between New York and Palma. Ibiza wants a piece of that juicy cake, which means three weekly flights from the United States and potentially another point in that country for the time being.

Palma Airport would serve as a hub: “It would be the responsibility of another local enterprise to move them to Eivissa. North Americans are accustomed to undertaking such journeys. We need to attempt to get as many people as possible on those aircraft to Ibiza” Costa elaborates.

The Consell de Ibiza would organize and be in charge of a campaign to market the island in its entirety. There are currently four initial months, with the idea of adding more connections in the future.
