After a terrible accident this Sunday in the second stage of the 2022 edition of the Dakar Rally that goes through Saudi Arabia, the Ibizan rider departs the competition with a fractured fibula in his right leg and two shattered ribs

Toni Vingut’s third adventure in Saudi Arabia and the illusions he had deposited in this edition of the Dakar Rally 2022 ended this Sunday in a hasty and pitiful way, as the islander participant was forced to abandon the competition after suffering an accident in which he was badly injured, with two cracked ribs and a fracture in the fibula of his right leg, according to the latest medical report released yesterday.

The continuation of the Sant Antoni pilot in the test was practically discarded almost immediately, by direct recommendation of the organization, after suffering this unforeseen mishap with his quad, as explained by the pilot himself islander, still in shock, in a video while he was evacuated in the emergency helicopter to a hospital.

“I believe I made a mistake today (yesterday). I’m not sure what happened, but I ended up on the floor and am still dazed. My jaw is hurting, and my ankle is swollen. They tell me I shouldn’t go on since I have no recollection of falling” Toni Vingut said this as he flew in the helicopter before being examined by a doctor to ascertain the extent of his possible injuries.

In this Dakar Rally 2022, bad luck and disaster took their toll on Ibizan rider Toni Vingut, who was forced to exit the competition at the very first moment, in the second stage of the race, saying farewell in a hurried and abrupt manner to the famous event in Saudi Arabia.
