The festival of mountain races on Ibiza, the 3 Días Trail Ultra Ibiza, brought down the curtain yesterday on its 9th year, cementing itself as one of the greats of national trail running with nearly a thousand participants over three intense days of competition.

A technical competition with more than 300 meters of positive vertical gain also served to crown the absolute stage winners of the event. After the initial night race last Friday and the four modalities that took place on Saturday, the party moved to Talamanca to put the finishing touch to the event organized by Trideporte Club, which has brought together a multitude of athletes from different parts of the national and international scene.
As usual in this final stage, and in order to give them a greater visibility, the female participants started seven minutes before the male category. Since its birth, almost a decade ago, the race promoted by Fátima Blázquez has maintained among its main objectives providing visibility to women athletes and promoting their participation in mountain races.
The itinerary of this last stage offered trails very close to the coast marked by steep and abrupt slopes. The tiredness and fatigue accumulated after two days of competition were not enough to stop the runners, who fought to the end with the aim of improving their position in the final classification.
