The seventh Ingenión Entrepreneurs Forum begins with a discussion about women’s leadership

Four businesswomen underline the importance of passion, excitement, hard work, and teamwork in ensuring a project's success

The seventh edition of the Entrepreneurs Forum Ingenión, organized by the City Council of Santa Eulària‘s Department of Employment, began yesterday morning at the Cultural Center of Jesus with a session focused to women’s leadership.

Carmen Ferrer, the mayoress, encouraged all entrepreneurs to continue with their ideas “despite obstacles, because that is precisely what it takes to be an entrepreneur, to be able to overcome obstacles.” Ferrer also urged administrations to decrease bureaucracy in order to allow new firms to “continue to generate employment and the future.”

“Ingenión is one of the conferences I enjoy the most for its optimism, the quality of its participants, and the value of success stories, because being in the market for so long entails overcoming market fluctuations, which is, after all, what entrepreneurship is all about,” the mayoress explained.

On the role of institutions, Ferrer emphasized the Consistory’s dedication to entrepreneurship but also the importance of simplifying regulations, mostly national and regional, that affect businesses. “The institutions must foster an environment that fosters competition and offers legal clarity in order for entrepreneurs to develop their ideas, which will result in the creation of businesses, jobs, and the future.”

Competition for Projects

Following Ferrer’s remarks, a short sketch entitled ‘Emprende con humor’ by Matilde Lladó was presented, followed by the announcement of the twelve finalists in the ‘Best Entrepreneurial Project’ competition, which celebrated its second edition this year and includes a cash prize of 2,000 euros for the winner, 1,000 euros for the runner-up, and a voucher for coworking sessions for the third. Today, the winners will be announced.
