The UD Ibiza 2026/27 squad is now complete. With the summer transfer window officially closed, manager Raúl Llona has the group of players he will rely on as the club attempts to return to Spain’s Segunda División.
The Ibiza-based club will compete in Primera Federación Group 2, a division expected to be among the most competitive in recent seasons. After an intense transfer campaign, UD Ibiza have assembled a 24-player squad designed to combine experience, depth and promising young talent.
One of those players, Liberto Beltrán, will miss the entire season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee. UD Ibiza have therefore released his registration spot, allowing the club to register Erik Ruiz, having reached its limit of senior licences.
The squad includes 19 new signings: 15 permanent arrivals — Gonzalo Almenara, Andrés Prieto, Genaro Rodríguez, Ander Yoldi, Pedro Ortiz, Iker Varela, Liberto Beltrán, Rareș Vlad, Hugo San, Eric Curbelo, José Carlos Lazo, Manu Justo, Pablo Busto, Víctor García and Erik Ruiz — plus four players arriving on loan: Ismael Fadel, Dimitrios Stamatakis, Josep Calavera and Jérémy Blasco.
David Astals also returns to the squad after spending last season on loan at Sabadell.
Most of the new arrivals have signed two-year contracts, while Eric Curbelo, José Carlos Lazo, Manu Justo and Erik Ruiz have agreed deals covering one season with an additional option.
Jérémy Blasco completes UD Ibiza’s dramatic deadline-day move
The final hours of the transfer window provided the biggest surprise. With only 30 minutes remaining before the deadline, UD Ibiza announced the departure of Manu Pedre, before confirming the arrival of Jérémy Blasco shortly afterwards.
The 27-year-old French centre-back joins on loan from Polish club Radomiak until the end of the season. The agreement includes a purchase option that can become effective if certain conditions are met.
Blasco also brings previous experience of Spain’s Segunda División, having played for Real Sociedad B and SD Huesca. His arrival gives Llona another experienced option at the heart of the defence as UD Ibiza pursue promotion.
A busy list of departures
The club’s summer rebuild has also involved a substantial number of departures.
Unai Medina, Monju, Ramón Juan, Iago Indias, Bebé, David del Pozo, Nacho González and Cristian Torrelavid all left after their contracts expired. Meanwhile, José Albert, Arnau Solà, Yann Kembo, David García, Max Svensson and João Gabriel Fersura returned to their parent clubs following the end of their loan spells.
UD Ibiza also terminated the contracts of Sergio Díez, Izan Yurrieta, Mounir Errahaly and Tamir Glezer, with Manu Pedre becoming the latest departure on deadline day.
Paradowski joined Algeciras on loan, while Davo unilaterally terminated his contract to move to Alcorcón.
Fran Castillo’s departure leaves a major void
One of the most significant exits for the supporters was Fran Castillo, the club’s standout performer last season.
Castellón paid €300,000 for the winger, who has already made an impact at his new club. On Monday, Castillo started at Balaídos against Celta Fortuna and played a direct role in both goals as Castellón secured a 2-1 victory. He scored the opening goal and provided the assist for the second.
His departure leaves UD Ibiza without one of the most influential attacking players from last season, increasing the pressure on the club’s new arrivals to provide goals and creativity.
Two players for every position
With the transfer window now closed, Raúl Llona has a balanced squad with two options for most positions, combining experienced players familiar with Primera Federación with younger footballers expected to develop throughout the campaign.
Goalkeepers and defence
The goalkeeper group consists of Andrés Prieto, Dimitrios Stamatakis and Rareș Vlad. Prieto began the campaign as the starter at Antequera.
At right-back, Llona can choose between David Astals, who can also operate further forward, Pablo Busto and Gonzalo Almenara.
The centre-back options are Eric Curbelo, Erik Ruiz, Ismael Fadel and Jérémy Blasco, while Hugo San and Víctor García provide alternatives at left-back.
Midfield and attacking options
In central midfield, Theo Valls, Josep Calavera, Genaro Rodríguez and Pedro Ortiz will compete for two starting positions. Ortiz has so far also been used by Llona in a more advanced midfield role.
The attacking midfield and three-quarter line contains much of UD Ibiza’s creative talent, with José Carlos Lazo, Iker Varela, Ander Yoldi, Mazeya and Iván del Olmo all available to provide attacking threat.
Liberto, however, will not feature this season after his ACL injury, with his squad registration released to make room for Erik Ruiz.
Up front, Manu Justo and Eslava will lead the line. Both are established forwards at this level and will be expected to carry a significant share of the team’s goalscoring responsibility.
With the squad now settled, UD Ibiza have their 24 players in place for the promotion battle. Over the next nine months, Llona’s challenge will be to turn a summer of major squad changes into a team capable of fighting for promotion and earning a return to Segunda División.
