The Sant Joan City Council has initiated enforcement measures against the Ibiza Yoga centre in Benirràs for persistent breaches of urban planning laws, including a monthly fine of €3,332 until the demolition of nine illegally constructed cabins used as tourist accommodation. The British-owned centre has evaded compliance for over a decade, building further unlicensed structures in a protected area despite legal orders since 2013. Authorities discovered irregular rentals through Airbnb, offering stays in unconventional spaces like buses and barns, and continue to monitor the site’s activities. Local police inspections confirm non-compliance, with further penalties anticipated.
