A under 17 years of age has been arrested by the Guardia Civil as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery of a 12 year old boywho was robbed of a backpack in which he kept his wallet with about 75 euros. The facts, advanced by IB3 and confirmed by the Consell insular, occurred during last Sunday afternoon in the surroundings of the old cemetery of Sant Francesc.
According to the mother of the assaulted boy told the public radio station Radio Illa, the assailant surprised her son from behind by pulling the bag he was carrying. A struggle ensued but the thief managed to take it. The assailant called his mother on the phone “crying” to come and get him. Apparently, while the woman was arriving at the scene of the incident, the assailant, in the company of two other young men, returned to the area, so the victim ran away seeking refuge in a nearby supermarket that was open.
When his mother found him, and due to his state of nerves, she told him she took him to the Hospital de Formentera , where, according to his mother in statements to Radio Illa, he was attended to by a anxiety attack.
While this was happening, the Guardia Civil had already arrested the aggressor, who once recognized by the victim when she went with her mother to file the formal complaint, was taken to court.
