Yacht crashes in s’Espalmador: “Let everyone take what they can”

The vessel has become a tourist attraction and meme fodder that has caught the attention of even Lola Indigo

You could see it coming. The yacht which ran aground on Saturday night at es Racó de s’Alga, in s’Espalmador, has become yet another tourist attraction. Only suitable for those who can get close to the islet between Ibiza and Formentera. On Sunday morning, shortly after the early risers discovered the boat mounted on the rocks of the islet, dozens of people approached the area to take photos and videos that soon spread through the networks.

Some, yes, with more sparkle than others. One of them, shared through a profile with numerous followers, ironizes that the yacht was traveling “at 30 knots” and that it was trying to “pass the dune”. “The dune has been trying to pass it,” he insists. “And now, let everyone take what they can get.” he comments to the camera while another person, crouching down, rummages around the propeller area. “You have to get humor out of everything,” he says, circling the yacht to look for some inscriptions that can be read, like on a dirty car, on one of the sides: “From Formentera to heaven”, “Anybody has a bad night”, “Deep sea”, we read. “You already have to have imagination to stamp a boat here,” he continues with the jest, accentuated by the southern accent. “It almost passed the dune, almost, almost. It missed nothing,” he continues as he shows how a woman poses stylishly on the bow while they take pictures of her. The same thing he and his friends do in the last seconds of the video, sitting inside the yacht.

Some have had their pictures taken much less stylishly, putting their asses in pomp in front of the yacht’s bow. A charter businessman who works, among other places, in Ibiza, has taken advantage of the picture to make a publication in which he ironizes about why rent a yacht with captain and crew despite having the license.

Even Lola Indigo herself, protagonist of the magazines of the heart of this week for sharing her vacations with footballer Achraf Hakimi, has shared on networks the picture of the yacht mounted on the rocks of s’Espalmador, an image that has labeled: “Enga, aparcao”.
