Woman arrested for stabbing a man in the chest and neck with a glass bottle in Ibiza

Officers from the National Police in Ibiza arrested a woman last Monday as the alleged perpetrator of an attempted murder following an assault near the entrance of a nightclub in the municipality. According to initial reports, the incident took place at one of the venues located in the passages off Isidor Macabich Avenue.

According to the Balearic Islands’ Superior Headquarters of the National Police, the police response was triggered by a call to the 091 emergency number reporting a fight at the entrance to the premises. Upon arrival, officers found a young man with multiple injuries to the chest and neck, consistent with wounds caused by a sharp object, which they later confirmed was a glass bottle. The injured man received medical attention at the scene before being taken to hospital.

Several witnesses stated that the alleged aggressor was a woman who had been in the area and who was shortly afterwards located and arrested by officers. At the time of her arrest, the woman claimed that she had acted to protect her partner, who had allegedly been involved in a fight with another young man shortly beforehand.

“Given the seriousness of the victim’s injuries, the woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder”, the police said.

The investigation remains open and is being handled by officers from the National Police’s Specialised and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) in Ibiza, with the aim of fully clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.
