The first week of November is loaded with exciting events in cinema, theater, dance and most significantly, music. One of the highlights this weekend is the special screening of ‘En temporada baja‘, the latest work by David Marqués, which will take place at the Cine Regio in Sant Antoni this Friday from 8pm. In addition to the screening of the film starring Antonio Resines, Edu Soto, Coque Malla and Fele Martínez, there will be a discussion with the audience in which the Ibizan filmmaker, actors Fele Martínez and Eric Francés, and producer Paloma Mora will participate.
At Can Ventosa, on Saturday, November 5th at 8 pm, the play ‘La Infamia’, by Lydia Cacho, directed by José Martret and starring Marta Nieto, will be performed. It also features camera operator Alicia Aguirre, who throughout the show offers a close-up of the actress to the audience. ‘La Infamia’ tells the story of the author herself, Lydia Cacho, a Mexican journalist and activist who has fought throughout her life against the violation of Human Rights.
On the same day, at 7pm, in the auditorium of the Centro Polivalente de Cas Serres, the official presentation of Ida Company, the first neoclassical-contemporary dance company of young talents of Ibiza, will take place.
Those who want to continue celebrating Tots Sants and Halloween this weekend can do so this Saturday in Santa Eulària from 11am with children’s workshops and trencada in the Paseo de s’Alamera and, later, with the scary stories of Txaro and ‘Magia para no dormir’, by Andrés Lluch, in the Plaza de España.
The Sant Carles festivities continue this weekend with the celebration of the big day on Friday and Saturday, with a concert by Manu Tenorio at 9pm in the church square.
Santa Gertrudis also starts its patron saint celebrations this weekend and on Sunday November 6th has organized a fiesta payesa in the marquee at noon with craft fair and frita de matances by the Grup de Balls Tradicionals Santa Gertrudis.
