The weather in Ibiza: Will the wind alert be maintained this weekend?

The storm Aline has caused several damages in Ibiza and Formentera

The storm Aline has caused a lot of damage in its passage through Ibiza and Formentera. Trees have fallen, awnings have blown down, shop signs have come down, fires have broken out of control and boat and plane trips have been cancelled. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated an orange alert for coastal risks and a yellow alert for strong winds on Friday.

This Friday wind gusts will reach 60 km/h. In addition, the Aemet forecasts that the minimum temperature will be 17 degrees and the maximum of 25, the same as in Formentera. On Saturday the orange alert for coastal risks disappears because the Aemet has activated the yellow one. Wind gusts will reach 40 km / h and there is no likelihood of precipitation. The minimum temperature in Ibiza will be 15 degrees and the maximum of 23 degrees.

On Sunday all alerts disappear and meteorologists predict a sunny day with temperatures between 15 and 26 degrees.

In the early hours of this Friday morning the Firefighters of Ibiza have had to extinguish a fire in Benirràs and another in Santa Eulària. In addition, they had to remove a awning that flew in Santa Gertrudis because of the strong wind and a sign of a store which had become loose and was in danger of falling onto the track. They also removed a tree that had fallen on several cars in Cala de Bou.

The strong wind also caused last night’s closure of the port of La Savina in Formentera . In addition, due to the storm in s’Estany several boats were released from the ecological moorings installed this year and went against the shore.
