UD Ibiza drew again yesterday in Can Misses after a match with Amorebieta (1-1) in a marked by a blunder from the goalkeeper Germán after the first 2 minutes. Obieta put the Biscayan team ahead and although the UD Ibiza was far superior throughout the match, they were only able to level the match thanks to a goal by Sergio Castel in the second half. The celestial team deserved better fortune before a clearly inferior rival, but they continue unbeaten after four matches, in none of which they have been the inferior team and they remain unbeaten in Second Division.
Carcedo not only called on his old guard again, but increased the number of survivors from the team that made history in Segunda B to 10, giving Davo his first start and with the only addition of Kevin Appin in midfield.
However, things got off to the worst possible start for Juan Carlos Carcedo’s men as a shocking mistake from Germán Parreño was to blight the Celeste’s chances almost from the opening whistle.
The goalkeeper from Alicante did not measure the timing of a ball from the right flank, missed his moment and let Koldo Obieta ahead to score 0-1 with a header, to the disbelief of the more than 3,000 fans. A big mistake – which already occurred against Malaga – again condemned the Ibizans in their return to Can Misses shortly before the completion of the third minute of play.
But Ibiza, far from giving up, bounced back and in the following 10 minutes promted four dangerous corner shots with great intent from Appin and Castel. After the first quarter of hour it was again Castel who came close to the equalizing with a header that grazed the post from the fifth corner, launched fiercely by Javi Lara.
