Next Thursday, Sant Antoni will host the event ‘Sun sets x Ibiza’, an initiative of Ibiza Echoes and Dipef (Association of DJs and Producers of Ibiza and Formentera) to “celebrate the sunset culture as cultural heritage of the island and pay tribute to José Padilla”, pioneer of the chill-out sound.
The celebration, framed in the festivities of Sant Bartomeu, will take place in sa Punta des Molí, which will be the center of the event. It will feature a set of music selected directly from José Padilla’s personal record collection. The music will be provided by friends and close collaborators of the dj, such as Phil Mison, Andy Wilson, DJane Tsunami and Yawa Zé.
In addition, there will be a vinyl market organized by the Ibiza Vinyl Club, where collectors and fans will be able to find unique pieces.
All funds raised during the event, which include voluntary donations and the sale of drinks, will go to sustainability projects and the preservation of Ibiza’s musical heritage. The proceeds will be managed through EarthPercent Ibiza, the local branch of the British foundation co-founded by Brian Eno, dedicated to driving environmental solutions through the music industry.
