How a thief robbed a bar in Sant Antoni: he took the cash register and the tip jar with 2,000 euros

He threw a stone at the glass entrance door, shattered it and ran off. This is how a thief managed to break into the bar Es Clot in Sant Antoni in the early hours of 26 October. The offender waited for the alarm to stop ringing and then returned to the establishment, crawling inside.

Once in, he grabbed the tip jar, which contained 1,500 euros, and the cash register, with 500 euros in notes and coins for change, according to the owner, who reported the incident to Diario de Ibiza and has filed a complaint at the Guardia Civil station in Ses Païsses.

The video shows that the thief is a middle-aged man.

Robbery In Sant Antoni

“The first time”

“It is the first time we have suffered a robbery since we have been running Es Clot, and we have been managing the business for five years”, explains the owner.

“During the day everything is normal, but at night there is a certain sense of insecurity. In recent weeks we have noticed more movement of unknown people or people behaving unusually in the area, and that is causing concern among neighbours and shopkeepers”, he adds.

“We hope that with more police presence and control we can regain the peace we’ve always had”, concludes the owner.

Another robbery in Sant Antoni

This robbery comes in addition to the one that took place in the early hours of Sunday to Monday, at 2:55 a.m., at Bar Urban, located at 35 Soledad Street in Sant Antoni. A young man entered the establishment, went behind the bar, cut the cash register cable, stole 300 euros in cash and a mobile phone, and left. Everything happened in just thirty seconds.
