Spain’s largest yacht sails in Ibiza and rents for €3 million a week

It’s impossible not to see it on the Ibiza skyline, with its imposing five floors and 112 meters in length, because it is like a building that sails the seas.

The ‘Renaissance’ left the Vigo shipyard Freire Shipyard in 2023, and from that moment she became the largest pleasure craft ever built in Spain (although she sails under the flag of the Cayman Islands). According to the specialized press, it cost 185 million euros, and its brand new owner is the tycoon Gary Klesch. Born in the United States, but resident in Switzerland, he is the founder of the Klesch Group, one of the most important industrial conglomerates in the world.

But this millionaire has not acquired this luxurious boat to enjoy it, but it is just one more business among the many he owns. The Burgess company is now in charge of renting the ‘Renaissance’ for a figure that is considered to be in accordance with its finish and the services it provides: 3 million euros per week. “It is a temple of leisure, designed to delight its 36 guests,” explained Caroline Taylor, manager of Burgess’ charter division, for all interested millionaires. She can comfortably accommodate 44 guests. The 112-meter yacht, built in Vigo over two years with the participation of seven hundred people, has 19 suite-style cabins, six decks with views, a terrace with a Jacuzzi, private dining room, spa, gym, beauty salon, a cinema, a huge swimming pool, a sushi bar and a heliport. The ship was designed by Bannenberg & Rowell and aspires to become a maritime landmark.

Although for ordinary mortals the price to enjoy this boat seems an exorbitant figure, the truth is that this week is rentedthe yacht has been seen sailing along the coast of Ibiza before leaving for Palma de Mallorca.

The ‘Renaissance’ is among the top 5% of motor yachts in the world by overall length. It is one of 71 motor yachts over 100 meters in length.

The main deck aft has two bars one serving as a sushi bar and the other with a pizza oven for poolside dining. At night, the bridge bars and main decks are transformed into a DJ booth, while the cinema on the lower deck, with seating for 19 people, offers a great movie experience.

The owner’s private deck offers a 60 m² palatial stateroom with commanding views, dressing rooms, bathrooms (both with side access to the deck), a media room and a salon with private bar and dining area. The private foredeck features a six-person Jacuzzi, sun loungers and lounge seating, while the aft deck offers an ideal space to host private dinners for up to 12 guests.
