Next Thursday, 16th September, is Tourist Day and Santa Eulària Town Council has put on a series of activities to promote the town and publicise some of its most interesting tourist spots, according to a Council press release. Guided tours, boat trips and ball pagès (a traditional Pitiusan dance) are the main features showcasing “some of the town’s attractions in a fun and original way”.

On the day there will be an open day at the Ibiza Ethnographic Museum, from 10am to 2pm and from 5.30pm to 8pm. From 10am until approximately 1.30pm there will also be a guided tour by mini-train along the town’s beaches and coves, starting in Cala Llonga. Places for this activity are limited.

There will also be a glass-bottom boat excursion from 10am to 11am, which will start at the port of Es Canar beach. The activity will depend on weather conditions.

At 6.30pm a guided tour will begin along the Santa Eulària river route, starting in Plaza España in front of the Town Hall, and ending in the Sala Barrau at 8.30pm. The route will pass by Puig de Missa and visit the 16th-century church, before stopping off at the Centre d’Interpretació del Riu de Santa Eulària Can Planetes, finding out about the importance of the river in the life of the town as well as the mechanisms of the old mill.

Due to health safety issues and covid restrictions, places on all excursions will be limited. All information and registration can be obtained by calling the Tourist Information Office on 971 330 728, or by sending an e-mail to turisme@santaeularia.com.

To end the day, at 9.30 pm there will be a ball pagès show with live music in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, on Es Canar beach and in Cala Llonga.
