The best plans for the weekend on Ibiza and Formentera

Bocatas, Social Security and lots of laughs, the three star ingredients to enjoy this weekend

This weekend laughter is guaranteed with the Festival del Humor de Ibiza, which opens this Thursday at the Auditorium of Cas Serres in Vila, with ‘El Humor Canalla’ by José Boto, which will feature the collaboration of artists from Ibiza Laura Moreno and José Ignacio Ricarte and the participation of Jesus Arenas and Carlos Balbin, from Albacete and Zaragoza, respectively. From Friday the festival moves to Can Ventosa, where the magician Jorge Blass will perform on Friday; on Saturday, Angel Martin, and on Sunday, Commander Lara and company, which will close this 13th year.

Two of the main events in the festivities of Santa Gertrudis are also celebrated this weekend. On Saturday, November 12th, the big party La Movida, with DJ Petit & Vazquez, which will be accompanied by the concert by Seguridad Social. The next day the 1st Bocatas Contest will be held, judged by Ginés Corregüela, a farmer from Úbeda that sweeps the social network Tik Tok thanks to the large sandwiches he prepares to eat during his working days.

Sant Carles continues with its patron saint celebrations. This Saturday a musical tribute to the artist Erwin Bechtold is scheduled at 7pm in the parish center of the town. The pianist Ambrosio Valero, cellist Alberto Martos and violinist Pablo Martos will perform compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and Dmitri Shostakovich.

And the music continues this saturday in the auditorium of Cas Serres with the Folk Festival, organized by the Consell de Eivissa, and in which three groups from Extremadura will participate from 8pm, Aulaga Folk, Llares Folk, and Manu Sequera Trio. In addition, this Sunday at noon at the restaurant Can Truy in Santa Eulària, the singer and songwriter Alice Wonder will perform, one of the leading names in the national indie music scene.

Film buffs are in luck because Zinètic opens its new season this Thursday at the Cine Regio in Sant Antoni. It does so with the film ‘Pacifiction’, by Albert Serra.

In Sant Josep, this Friday the activities of the program organized by the City Council of the municipality for 25N begin. Among the events planned is the Nordic March against gender violence, which will start on Sunday at 10am from the bar Stop de Cala Tarida.

That same day on Eivissa bike lovers can enjoy the Día del Pedal.
