This weekend one of the most important events on the agenda of leisure and culture on Ibiza and Formentera is the start of the Festes de la Terra, which will take place this Sunday, the 30th of July, and will begin with a parade of traditional carts that will leave the Avenida de Santa Eulària in Ibiza at 7 pm. At the same time and until 10 pm, the Vara de Rey promenade will host a gathering of artisans and trades from Ibiza, a performance by the Colla Castellera Boixes i Boixos d’Eivissa, at 7:30 pm; the ball pagès de Eivissa, a traditional dance by the locals; and a traditional dance by the locals of Ibiza, at 7:30 pm. 30 pm; the ball pagès of Sa Colla de Vila, at 8 pm; and a correfocs by Es mals esperits, at 8:30 pm, which will reach the Reina Sofía park, where at 10:30 pm the main show of the evening will take place, which will be performed by the Gran Circo Acrobático de China (Great Acrobatic Circus of China).
Another of the most attractive proposals of these days is gastronomica Roman-inspired dinner at the puig des Molins necropolis. With this event and an informative talk by the historian Carmen Mezquida will close this Friday July 28th at 8.30 pm the ‘Mediterranean Triad: bread, oil and wine in the old Eivissa’.
This weekend is the premiere of the Musical Cycle Nits al Baluard with the performance of guitarists Pedro Mateo González and Yerai Cortés on Saturday, July 29, at 9 pm at the Baluard de Sant Pere. The concert is free. Another musical plan to consider is the performance of Soul Doctor at the Auditori Caló de s’Oli, in Cala de Bou, on the same day at 8 pm, as part of Sol Post a s’Oli Fest.
The lovers of the magic you can enjoy ‘The great nonsense’which also includes magic and clown with Diego Martínez on Sunday, July 30 at 10 p.m. in the square behind the church of Sant Antoni as part of the “El gran disparate” Nits Amples d’Estiu Cycle . Admission is free.
And for those who like cinema this Saturday, July 29, at 10 pm there is a new session in Sant Agustí of Mecal Air Ibiza dedicated on this occasion to short films about surfing.
In Formentera, in es Pujols, on Sunday, July 30 at 7 p.m., there will be a mass and a seafaring procession in honor of the Virgen del Carmenand ballada with es Xacoters and es Pastorells.
