He pays 8,000 euros for a villa in Ibiza and the answer doesn’t take long: “It seems cheap to me. I paid a thousand euros in Menorca for an apartment”

Private villas in Ibiza are becoming increasingly popular with travellers seeking privacy, freedom and a more personalised experience, away from the island’s busier spots. These properties stand out for their scenic views, a blend of traditional and modern design, and tailored services. While often considered exclusive and unaffordable, Spanish businessman José Elías challenged this perception on the podcast Búscate la vida, revealing he rented a villa near Cala Bassa for €8,000 a week. Split between eight people, he argued, the cost was €1,000 per person, a price the presenter compared favourably with other Mediterranean destinations such as Menorca.
