3.000 people have attended today the Intercultural Festival of Formentera, one of the most multitudinous of the island, which was held in the Plaza Europa de es Pujol. It was the first time it was held since the pandemic, so people from all countries have not stopped dancing and enjoying typical dishes from around the world.
Gastronomy is the strong point of this festival organized by the insular area of Social Welfare. At noon the attendees have been able to taste typical dishes from each of the countries and participating autonomous communities. The proposals have been very varied: from Venezuelan arepas to the well-known frit de matanzas from Formentera, Romanian sarmale (based on cabbage rolls stuffed with meat) or the appreciated Italian lasagna, among many other dishes.
Dancing and music have also been the protagonists of the day by local groups with batucada, Cuban salsa or the sound of bagpipes. It was also planned that the group Timba Tumbet, invited to dance with a repertoire of chachachรก, cumbia, Cuban dream, bolero or bugalรบ.
In addition, adults and children were able to enjoy activities and workshops including bouncy castles, traditional games and games from around the world, hamabeads workshop, the wishing tree, making bookmarks and badges of the flags of the world.
