The Meliá Collection includes the Five Flowers hotel in Formentera in its catalog

Meliá Hotels International has announced the incorporation of the Five Flowers Hotel & Spa to its luxury brand The Meliá Collection, which “increases its exclusive international portfolio with the first and only five-star hotel in Formentera”. “As a result of the collaboration with Paya Hotels owner of the establishment, both companies will share their unique vision of hospitality and join forces to take the exclusivity of this Mediterranean paradise to new heights of authenticity and sophistication,” the hotel company explains.

This agreement allows however the management of the Formentera establishment to its owners, the Paya familywith the aim of “preserving its unique essence”. Located just a little more than a hundred meters from the beach of es Pujolsthe most touristic area of the island, and “a few steps from the tourist heart of Formentera, Five Flowers Hotel & Spa is a luxury retreat inspired by the hippie and bohemian lifestyle,” adds the hotelier.

Gabriel Escarrer, president of Meliá, “thanks” Paya Hotels “for the trust placed in this agreement. This collaboration reinforces our shared commitment to provide exceptional luxury experiences to our guests and to strengthen the positioning of Formentera as a key destination in the Spanish vacation segment.”

For its part, Juan Manuel Costa EscanellascEO of Paya Hotels, states regarding the agreement with Meliá: “As a Balearic company, we enthusiastically welcome the partnership. Founded in 1956 in Palma (Mallorca), Meliá Hotels International has more than 400 hotels open or in the process of opening, in more than 40 countries, and a portfolio of nine brands.

In terms of Paya Hotels which was created in 1973, and is “one of the reference hotel companies in Formentera and the Balearic Islands”, according to the hotel company. Its portfolio includes the tourist apartments Paya Suites, Paya Residences and Portu Saler. In the luxury segment, it operates Blanco Hotel and Five Flowers Hotel & Spa, the first and only five-star hotel on the island.
