A young man was rescued early Sunday morning by a security guard of the Hï Ibiza nightclub after falling into a sewage pit located in the parking lot of the premises. According to sources of the establishment, the event occurred after 5am and it was the security guard who was walking through the parking lot who heard a metallic noise and, immediately afterwards, a person calling for help.
At that moment, he used the walkie-talkie to warn his colleagues, who approached the area with a ladder to rescue the boy, who was conscious and at a depth of more than five meters, explain the same sources. In fact, the SAMU 061 has confirmed to this media that it did not receive any notice related to the incident.
For its part, the Balearic Agency for Water and Environmental Quality (Abaqua), the agency responsible for this pumping station located in Platja d’en Bossa, say they received a call from the club to alert the “mishap”, so a technician came to check “the magnitude of the accident”.
Sewage facility agency speaks of vandalism
Although the security guard only saw the boy who fell into the sewage pumping station, Abaqua sources speak of “vandalism” in the area. “They removed the security barriers, it can be seen that someone came in to drink and loiter, and while jumping, the cover that protects that area gave way and the boy fell,” they explain.
