Man dies in van fire and explosion in Ibiza

A man tragically lost his life this evening around 7 p.m. in Cala de Bou (Sant Josep) following a fire that engulfed a van. Authorities are investigating the circumstances, with suicide being one of the leading hypotheses.

The events occurred in the navarra street. The vehicle was parked in front of numbers 14-20 of that street, but on the side facing an open field, next to an electrical transformer. In the videos that were circulating last night on the networks, it could be heard how the neighbors, faced with the magnitude of the flames, shouted from their homes that someone had gone inside the van; a couple of explosions can also be heard, according to this newspaper, produced by the deflagration of a butane cylinder that the man put inside the van shortly before setting fire to its interior and then getting inside.

He lived next door

The man was a neighbor in the neighborhood resident of Madrid Street, located right next to where the fire and subsequent death of this person occurred.

Firefighters from the Parque Insular have gone to the neighborhood after receiving a call at 19 hours. They have intervened an autobomba vehicle, a caporal, and three firefighters. After smothering the flames, they found that one person was dead inside.

The area was also visited by police officers from the Local Police of Sant Josep and the Civil Guard. The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard then began to investigate the causes and circumstances of the death.
