The Balearic Health Service announced yesterday that it has multiplied the annual bonus paid to health workers by five with the aim of recognising the effort made by health professionals during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Thus, the annual bonus amount, established at two million euros, this year will become ten million, to be paid on the payroll for the month of June. The general director of the Health Service, Juli Fuster, accompanied by the Director of Management and Budget, Manuel Palomino, reported the decision yesterday to the union representatives at the Health Sector Board.
The Health Service explained that the salary increase that Balearic workers will experience this month will vary since several factors must be taken into account, with the greatest factor beingย the degree of exposure to COVID that each professional has had. Likewise, this increase in the June payroll will depend “on the professional category, the service to which they belong and the management.”
Juli Fuster highlighted and thanked “the great effort that health professionals have made throughout 2020 and that they are still making to face the covid pandemic and to vaccinate the population of the Balearic Islands ยป. Without the involvement of health professionals, the Health Service pointed out in a statement after the meeting, it would not have been possible to maintain health care in the community during the moments of highest incidence of the different waves of the disease that have been registered since last year.
