‘Salt Island’ is the title of the exhibition that the artistic duo El.Rol is inaugurating this Friday, November 22nd, at 7 p.m., at the Can Jeroni cultural center of Sant Josep. An exhibition that brings together bronze sculptures, created with the lost wax technique, and abstract paintings made in mixed media on canvas and paper.
“‘Isla de sal’ is a tribute to the island, including the interior, the symbolic one. El.Rol displays in this exhibition a vision deeply connected to the insular environment, where emotions and thoughts take shape in an organic way. The works invite reflection on the interaction between nature and humanity, offering experiences that move, awaken questions and generate a dialogue with the viewer. The artists address themes such as respect for life, the impact of our actions and the need to preserve the natural balance, ranging from the mistreatment of animals and people to the protection of the environment,” say the organizers in a note.
The duo El.Rol is formed by Elena Abeni, artist, and Roland Kocherhans, creative assistant, who have lived and worked in Ibiza since 1990, although they have presented exhibitions in different parts of the world with their recognizable style, which oscillates between the organic and the abstract-figurative
Among the works presented in this exhibition, bronze sculptures with black patinas and canvases that combine abstraction and abstract figuration stand out, reflecting both the tangible reality of the island and its most intimate and metaphorical interpretation. “These pieces sum up the essence of ‘Isla de sal’: an encounter between art, nature and reflection, designed to stimulate, excite and entertain,” they summarize.
The exhibition will be open from November 23 to December 8, Monday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and Thursday to Saturday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
