The Policรญa Local of Sant Antoni, together with Guardia Civil officers, broke up an illegal party with 600 guests in a house this weekend. After receiving a tip-off from a local, officers found that several groups of people, wearing different coloured bracelets marked with ‘1001 Nights’ , were waiting near the Sant Rafel petrol station to be taken by van to a house in Camรญ des Taulell, Sant Antoni Town Hall said in a statement on Monday.
Upon arriving at the house, local police found about 60 people queuing at the entrance, in addition to the 175 people who were inside a garage dancing and listening to music without wearing masks or maintaining social distancing. The agents checked the guest list of over 600 people, and identified the person in charge of the event, who proceeded to follow instructions to close the event without letting any more people in. During this process, officers counted more than 350 people in different parts of the property.

After accessing the house, a bar with drinks, fridges, a storeroom with bottles of alcohol and a space with electronic music equipment, loudspeakers and coloured lights were found inside the garage. Officers files two complaints against the promoter for holding an illegal mass event with more than 150 people in an enclosed space without the corresponding authorisation, as well as for not complying with the minimum covid-19 security measures.
He was also fined for running a non-permament unlicensed activity, as well as for infringing the municipal ordinance on noise and vibrations at night. In addition, the musical equipment was temporarily seized.
Also over the weekend, the Policรญa Local of Sant Antoni stopped a party with 194 guests in Camรญ de Can Prats, which had an attendant controlling access. Local Police patrols, together with the Guardia Civil’s Citizen Security Unit, identified the owner, who provided the guest list and said that it was his 50th anniversary celebration. Officers filed several complaints under decree-law 11/2020 for breach of covid-19 measures and for holding an unregulated mass event. Finally, 12 complaints have been filed for breach of the municipal ordinance on noise and vibration, seven in homes and five on public roads for causing nuisance to neighbours.
