In the last three weeks, the health centres of Ibiza have vaccinated around 1,200 people against coronavirus, according to data from the Health Department of Ibiza and Formentera. This includes users who have come with an appointment, those who showed up at the clinic without one and those “found” by the health workers when unvaccinated users came to the facilities for anything else. The aim of the Balearic Regional Ministry of Health to promote vaccination against coronavirus in health centers is to more directly reach those people who, so far, have not yet received even the first dose.
A significant number of these vaccinations have been given to children, but also to adults who were reluctant to take part in the immunisation campaign and who have been advised by their own doctor or nurse to get vaccinated and had any doubts they may have had answered, according to the Ibiza and Formentera Health Area. In addition, another significant percentage of users had not yet been vaccinated because they had no way to get to the Recinto Ferial (fairghrounds) or because it was difficult for them, due to schedules, to travel from the rest of the island to the Recinto Ferial in Ibiza.
