Two Ibiza DJs return from Grammy Awards without wins but remain ‘happy’

“Happy losers”. With these words David Guetta summed up his time at the Grammy 2024 gala, held this Sunday night in Los Angeles. The French DJ and producer based in Ibiza was nominated alongside his partner Calvin Harris, also based in Ibiza, in the category of Best Pop Dance Recording.

Guetta had been nominated for two tracks, both collaborations with other artists. On the one hand, the song ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’, with Anne-Marie & Coi Leray and on the other hand ‘One in a Million’ with Bebe Rexha.

David Guetta attended the gala with his partner, Cuban model Jessica Ledon, who is pregnant.

Scottish DJ and producer, Calvin Harris, owner of an ecological farm in Ibiza, competed in this edition of the Grammy Awards with the track ‘Miracle’ with Ellie Goulding. Harris attended the gala with his wife, the British radio broadcaster Vick Hopewith whom married last yearafter asking him marriage at his Ibizan estate.

But neither of the deejays took the stage to collect the award, as it was Kylie Minogue the one who won the award for her song ‘Padam Padam’, in a gala with a feminine flavor.

Both djs are in a good professional and personal moment. Guetta is expecting his third child and Harris got married just last year, so it’s no wonder that not taking home a Grammy wasn’t such a bitter pill to swallow.

Taylor Swift, the big star

The American artist Taylor Swift was the great protagonist of the night by winning her fourth award for Album of the Year, by ‘Midnights‘, thus surpassing singers of the stature of Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder.

On the other hand, Miley Cyrus received the award for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance thanks to ‘Flowers’, which curiously are the first gramophones of her career.
