Hotels in Ibiza and Formentera have recorded Spain’s highest RevPAR (revenue per available room) in 2024, reaching €153.8, outperforming urban hubs like Barcelona and San Sebastián, according to Exceltur’s annual report. The islands also saw a 5.9% increase in room revenue compared to 2023, with total tourist expenditure up by 3% to €4.3 billion by October. Ibiza’s average earnings per room stood at €231.6, leading the national rankings. Coastal destinations like the Canary Islands and Balearics experienced strong growth in revenue, with figures rising by 11.1% and 7.9% respectively, alongside a predicted 4.9% growth in 2025. Meanwhile, tourist housing vacancies in Ibiza decreased by 296 units year-on-year to 2,385.
