Gastronomy and beer take centre stage at Recinto Ferial de Ibiza

The Recinto Ferial de Ibiza is getting ready to receive this Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20, the 3rd Gastro Ibiza and Formentera Fair, an event that claims the local product and the cuisine of the Pitiusas with tastings, showcookings, round tables and live music. The event is held in conjunction with the 18th Ibiza Beer Fair, which will offer more than 300 references of this drink. 19659001]In this edition highlights the large stand of Sabors d’Eivissa, coordinated by the Consell through Ibiza Travel, which will feature the cooperatives Agroeivissa, Ecofeixes and Cooperativa Ramadera d’Eivissa. There you can buy porc negre hamburgers, sobrasada llonguets or fried Ibizan red potato.

More than a dozen restaurants and food trucks will participate in the event, including Ca n’Alfredo, Tierra de Ibiza, Trattoria del Mar, Can Mario, Camàlic or Ficus, in addition to proposals such as Jamones Los Andaluces, Salewski Artesanos and Sa Trugeta. New this year is a space for traditional pastries with Can Rei and Heladería 97-12º, which will present an original beer ice cream as a nod to the sister fair.

Program

The inauguration will take place on Friday 19 at 7 p.m. with the official opening by David Pomar and a performance by Sa Colla De Sa Bodega. This will be followed by a round table discussion on the potential of local produce that will bring together producers and chefs such as Óscar Molina (La Gaia) and Catalina and Nuria Riera (Ca n’Alfredo). The day will also include a wine tasting-pairing of Can Rich wines with gastronomic proposals from Sabors d’Eivissa, and music by DJ Javi Box and DJ Sr. Cardona.

On Saturday 20 will be held several showcookings by the restaurants Ca n’Alfredo, which will present its award-winning squid stuffed with sobrasada, Land of Ibiza, which will show the preparation of the traditional frita de polp, and Trattoria del Mar, that will develop before the attendees a familiar dish of Italian roots in which the vegetables of Ibizawill stand out, followed by the music of DJ Toni Torres and the duo Petit & Vázquez (La Movida), who will close the event.

The fairs will also have a stand of the Elena Torres Association, which will sell T-shirts designed by Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, books and bracelets to raise funds for research into the early detection of cancer.

The Gastro Fair Ibiza and Formentera is organized by Eventos Musicales Ibiza and Imam Comunicación, with the support of Consell d’Eivissa, Ibiza Travel, the Balearic Government and the Consell de Formentera, as well as the island’s town halls and collaborating companies.
