“Ferrari on the water”, inside the superyacht spotted in Ibiza

Luxury is once again making its presence felt these days in the waters of Ibiza and Formentera. And is that the presence of the imposing superyacht Rock.it, over 60 meters long, has not gone unnoticed among tourists and residents.

Built by the Dutch shipyard Feadship and launched in 2014, this boat is a benchmark in naval design and technology. Among its amenities include a jacuzzi on deck, several indoor and outdoor lounges, three bars and an outdoor dining area. The yacht can accommodate a dozen guests in five luxury staterooms, served by a crew of up to 14.

The yacht was originally commissioned by Jimmy John Liautaud, founder of the Jimmy John’s sandwich chain, and sold in 2023 for an estimated $45 million to $54 million, who asked Feadship shipyard for a yacht with “the spirit of a Ferrari on the water.” Currently listed under the company D Rock LTD, registered in the Cayman Islands, on behalf of a new American owner whose identity has not been disclosed.

Beyond its size, the Rock.it surprises for its unique details: it has an advanced semi-dynamic positioning system that allows it to remain stable without anchor, sculptures by Jeff Koons in its interior and an ingenious hidden crane system to deploy its water toys without altering the aesthetics of the deck.

In 2020 she underwent a major refit, which included a private cinema, an owner’s office and technological upgrades throughout the audio-visual system.
