Hundreds of people came this Monday afternoon to the viewpoint of Cala d’Hort, in front of es Vedrà, to dance to the best tracks of the American deejay Diplo who called for this illegal party on his social networks and therefore is being investigated by the City Council of Sant Josep for possible illegalities in which it may have incurred and act accordingly.
The Consistory “strongly condemns”, as detailed in a press release, this call of the dj, held without permission in a very sensitive area and very protected by different laws of the island that already suffers dangerous crowds because of the fame that has caught among the followers of many influencers.
The dj Diplo himself co-posted videos of the party in the stories of his Instagram account in which a crowd of people of people are seen dancing to the rhythm of his electronic music. In the images, the attendees record the artist’s session with their phones and dance at sunset time.

“The space where this event was held is a Protected Area by the European Union through the Natura 2000 Network, in addition to a Natural Area of Special Interest, among other figures of environmental protection. A vulnerable area in which this type of illegal activities promote the risk of fires, noise problems, waste, etc and, of course, endanger the integrity of the people attending,” explains the City Council in a press release.
In addition, the Consistory details that, in any case, if it is intended to carry out any activity of this type, the person or entity concerned should previously request -without this guaranteeing its approval- an enabling title to the City Council, in addition to permits to the property and the rest of competent administrations.

“It is necessary to respect the coexistence between leisure and residents. The municipality of Sant Josep has those considered the best entertainment venues in the world. During the first half of the year there has been a notable drop in complaints of nuisance from this type of premises. The effort made by the employers to mitigate them is great, so sanity is requested to those who do not respect the regulations and that, as happened in the Dj Diplo session, jeopardize the whole model [de turismo] achieved so far,” regrets the Consistory in the note.
The Local Police of Sant Josep is investigating the facts and all possible crimes in which it may have been incurred in order to act accordingly.
