Numerous passengers prioritise securing the most desirable seat, with considerations such as comfort, window views, and other personal preferences. Yet, a critical aspect often overlooked in transportation is safety.
The ‘Times’ newspaper has conducted an investigation to ascertain the safest seats on an aeroplane. This research utilised data from aeroplane crashes over the past 30 years to determine the safest seating positions.
A notable revelation from this study is that the first-class section, typically situated at the front of the aircraft, is not the safest. Instead, the seats nearest the aisle, towards the rear of the aircraft, are deemed the safest. This finding is attributed to the higher likelihood of survival in these areas in the event of an accident.
