The Centro Antoni Tur ‘Gabrielet’ hosted on Tuesday the inauguration of the exhibition of paintings by François Mennes, which will remain open to the public until the 27th.
This artist of Belgian origin, established in Formentera for more than thirty years, arrived on the island by chance in search of work and began his professional career making stone walls, another of his great passions. In this way he met the painter Antoni Taulé, who was the one who inspired him, and began to paint specifically in the oil technique.
His work has been shown in different exhibitions, and is a good example of the creative capacity of Mennes, who has formed over time his own style and approaches with equal fluency to abstraction, the figuration of still lifes or landscapes of the island.
The exhibition will remain open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm.
