Eric Prydz premieres Holosphere 2.0 at UNVRS

UNVRS premiered this Monday in Ibiza Holosphere 2.0, the revolutionary show by Eric Prydz. The show is conceived for the dance floor and “is a breathtaking, cutting-edge demonstration where technology, innovation and human creativity come together.” described the club in a press release.

The show can be enjoyed every Monday this season, until September 1, and tickets are now available on the UNVRS website.

A new dimension

More than eight meters high and weighing eight tons, the Sphere is the result of years of obsessive design and technical refinement: a feat that combines live, reactive performance with an almost impossible structure.

At the core of it all: Eric Prydz, surrounded by three transparent layers of LED screens customized, performing inside the world’s first holographic concert sphere. Holosphere 2.0 is unlike anything seen before in club culture: it’s an arena-scale show designed to immerse you in a dense, dark and immersive rave atmosphere. It does not follow a predetermined narrative. It’s alive, unpredictable and transforms in real time with Prydz’s musical selections, they note in the release.

“We had been waiting for this moment for six years,” says Eric Prydz, “It wasn’t a choice, it was a necessity. The technology had to achieve our vision, as every component of Holosphere 2.0 has been custom designed and is completely original. This is what we always dreamed of.”

Built for the future

Every component of Sphere had to be custom fabricated. Designed with pinpoint precision, the structure strikes a delicate balance between advanced engineering strength and near total transparency. A feat made possible by the imposing main hall of UNVRS and its arena-scale infrastructure, making it one of the few venues in the world capable of housing it.

A team of animators and digital artists, including GMUNKbrought the Sphere to life by combining cinematic CGI aesthetics with practical effects captured in a Los Angeles studio. Huge glass spheres, plasma balls and burning glass were filmed in 360 degrees, laser mapped and transformed into immersive holographic environments. Each loop is sculpted as a self-contained digital piece.

The result is a generational leap in terms of visual content and stage fidelity. Resolution, pixel density, color depth and technical design have evolved dramatically since the debut of the original Holosphere in 2019. It should be noted that this is not a sequel, but a total reinvention of an already iconic concept.
