John McKenna, a 22-year-old man, died on Friday when he fell from the balcony of the hotel where he was staying in Sant Antoni. According to the British media Daily Mail, he was an electrician and football fan.
Apparently, according to the British press, the young man had played soccer for Scotby FC and Carlisle United. The medical services could do nothing to save the young man’s life, as he was in cardiorespiratory arrest when the medical services arrived.
One of his Carlisle United teammates has commented on his social networks, as detailed by the Mirror on its website: “I am absolutely heartbroken to write this. He was one of my closest mates at school.”
Scotby FC mourned his passing in a tweet late yesterday, “We lost a legend today, a brilliant player but an even better person.”
The Guardia Civil is investigating the circumstances in which the events took place, on Friday morning in Sant Antoni.
