Egypt’s richest family’s yacht anchors in Ibiza

The Yalla, a 73-meter luxury yacht owned by an Egyptian billionaire is these days in the waters of Ibiza. The owner in question is Naquib Sawiriswhose family’s net worth, according to Forbes, exceeds $11 billion, or 10.12 billion euros.

This family has been linked to the business world all their lives, both in telecommunications and construction, in addition to owning numerous hotels, villas, golf courses and marinas in Egypt.

In 2014 they acquired the most expensive penthouse in New York (at the time), at 960 Fifth Avenue, for $1.70 million. In early September 2015, Sawiris offered to buy an island off Greece or Italy to help hundreds of thousands of people fleeing Syria and other war-torn countries.

As for the superyacht now anchoring off the Balearic island, it can accommodate 12 guests in six suites along with the 22 crew members. Its market value is around 74 million euros and its annual operating costs are estimated at 7.3 million euros.

Yalla features a large indoor swimming pool. It also offers spacious suites for guests to relax and unwind, as well as being equipped with all the necessary facilities to ensure a smooth and comfortable sailing experience.
