Living as a couple or sharing with a friend slightly reduces the financial strain of renting a room in Ibiza — but it’s far from a solution. While single rooms rarely fall below €700, double rooms easily exceed four figures.
Examples include a double room in Platja d’en Bossa (€1,000 plus expenses), another on Avenida de España in Ibiza Town (€1,100 “with balcony included”), and one in a townhouse in Sant Jordi (€1,200).
These kinds of listings are multiplying in areas such as the island’s seafront, where at least three similar adverts are currently available for the tourist season only — two at €1,150 per month and another at €1,200.
That same amount is being asked for a double room “with private bathroom” in Es Viver, although in this case the landlord specifies that the contract could be extended “for the whole year, depending on how the trust goes”.
This type of situation — in which the tenant lives through a sort of trial period to prove themselves “worthy” of not being evicted once the tourist season begins — can be found in several adverts across the island.
