The Balearic Islands extends the requirement for a covid certificate to all bars and restaurants, regardless of capacity

The government will make the covid certificate mandatory for bars and restaurants with a capacity of less than 50 people

According to Diario de Mallorca, the regional executive will announce new pandemic measures this morning, including the mandatory covid certificate to enter bars and restaurants in a context of contagions rampant in recent days and the increasing presence of the variant omicron in the Balearic Islands, which is more contagious and is expected to soon be the dominant.With this move, the necessary covid passport, also known as “covid certificate”, will be extended to all establishments, but from now on, personnel of the premises that request the document to consumers once inside, rather than before entering, will be allowed.

The Govern will also approve the reinstatement of the mandatory nature of mask in public places, as indicated by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on Wednesday.

Athletes and covid certificate

Furthermore, the executive Armengol approves mandatory covid vaccination for all athletes over the age of 12, a provision that must be approved by the Balearic Islands’ High Court of Justice before it can be implemented.

All actions have been performed with the approval of employers and labor unions.
