Couple injured in violent robbery in Cala de Bou are elderly

Two people were injured in the attempted robbery that took place on Tuesday afternoon at a house in Cala de Bou. They are two elderly people: a 74-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman. One of the victims, the man, remains hospitalised at Can Misses Hospital after being transferred there by SAMU061, according to the Ibiza and Formentera Health Area management.

The man, of Spanish nationality, has suffered a hip injury and is admitted to the Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery Unit. The same incident also left a 67-year-old Spanish woman injured with multiple contusions. She was treated at the hospital and discharged at 23:55 on the same day.

The events occurred shortly before eight o’clock on Tuesday evening at a house on Salamanca Street, in the Cala de Bou area, within the municipality of Sant Josep. According to witnesses consulted by Diario de Ibiza, the assailants were at least two people, one of them dressed in black and wearing a balaclava.

The Sant Josep Local Police and other security forces continue to investigate the incident to clarify what happened and to determine whether the attackers managed to enter the house
